GCT presents

Katie Tertell is a multi-award winning American Cellist in high demand with some of the World's leading ensembles and Orchestras. Katie performs in live and recorded broadcasts for RTÉ Lyric FM and BBC Radio 3 on a near weekly basis, and enjoys reaching audiences both near and far through various broadcasts and recordings including a number of films and award-winning discs. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3’s “In Tune” and appeared as principal cello of the Ulster Orchestra at the BBC Proms. She currently freelances with a variety of internationally-acclaimed chamber orchestras, including Northern Sinfonia, Scottish Chamber, Irish Chamber and London Chamber Orchestra. She also enjoys working with some several of the leading Symphony and Opera orchestras. She has recently completed a successful outdoor tour of Northeast UK with Annie Ball with Semibreve, which has received critical acclaim and media attention due to the ambitious nature of such a project during the pandemic.

Annie Ball is a local, award-winning concert pianist who has performed and managed numerous projects which present Classical music in unusual and unique ways including story telling concerts (Beer Burgers and Beethoven, Fantasy Dreams Myths and Magic with Malcolm Green), Putting "Music on the Menu" for the Semibreve Supper Club (Newcastle EAT Festival), Live piano with Yoga and lying down Concerts (with Samantha Coe Yoga) and the globally recognised Classical Revolution Series.

During the COVID lockdown, Annie had the unique opportunity of working with the Internationally renowned cellist, Katie Tertell, who's tours were cancelled due to COVID meaning that both musicians were grounded in their local village; Clara Vale. They embarked on a new project together combining cello, accordion and voice, championing contemporary female composers and creating a successful, COIVID Safe, outdoor concert tour across rural locations in the North East.
