Freelance opportunity: Associate artist call-out

Updated: May 10, 2024

We are looking to expand our team of freelance dance/physical theatre, and drama facilitators to deliver work in schools and with GCT programmes.

Get in touch with our team if:

🟡 You are an experienced, energetic, and aspirational facilitator of dance / physical theatre, or drama (at least two years).

🟠 You are confident at delivering high quality sessions for people with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people.

🔴 You have a passion for working in this field and can create high quality new pieces of performance for public audiences.

Please send a CV if you have one or details on your relevant previous experience via email to Heather@gosforthcivictheatre.co.uk as well as a cover letter of no more than 400 words on why you would like to work at GCT as one of our associate artists.

We will then select the strongest applicants to attend GCT to deliver a morning session with our Dance Development group (£100 will be paid for this session). Sessions will be held throughout June on a Thursday morning 10am-12pm and include an informal chat.

We are really excited to increase the breadth of artists that we are working with, and to welcome new facilitators into our team.

I would love to do something with autistic children and individuals, I don't have dancing skills, but I can make them have fun dancing with them, I can even volunteer for it, maybe we'll play games with them, two-person games like basketball legends will definitely entertain them too, usually children say that they have a lot of fun playing such games with me.

This sounds like such a fantastic opportunity! As someone with a passion for dance and physical theatre, I love that GCT is actively seeking facilitators with experience in working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people. The chance to create performance pieces for public audiences is especially exciting. I’ll definitely be sending in my application—looking forward to the possibility of joining your talented team! 🎭💃 coreball
