Job Vacancy: Sport and Wellbeing Facilitator

The Role

This post will be responsible for the delivery and development of sport and wellbeing programmes linked to the priorities of reducing inactivity, increasing participation, and improving the health and wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities and autism.

As a crucial member of our delivery team, you will work together with our Health and Wellbeing lead to:

  • Conduct assessments, develop and deliver programmes for adults with learning disabilities and autism.

  • Take an active role in the activities developed for the sessions.

  • Be able to adapt exercises to suit the individual’s needs.

  • Use creative ways to promote a healthy lifestyle.

  • Promote and encourage healthy eating.  It would be an advantage in this position for you to have knowledge of diet and nutrition.

  • Understand and advise participants on the correct usage of any equipment.

  • Recognise and manage risk in line with the organisation’s protection of vulnerable adults and safeguarding policy and procedure.

Contract: 24 Months (With the potential to be made permanent)

Hours:  16 hours per week (Deliver sessions 9am – 4pm Mon/Wed/+ 2 hours planning)

Holiday entitlement: 30 days per year plus bank holidays (Increasing 1 day per year of service, to a maximum of 35 days) (pro rata)

Salary: £ 25,000 pro rata 

Starting: March 2024

Reports to: Head of delivery

Place of Work: Gosforth Civic Theatre, NE3 3HD and Kenton sports Centre
