Live music from exciting local musicians and street food in our Garden Cafe this Summer


Take a seat in our Garden and grab a drink from the bar this Summer as we extend our popular Street Food Fridays into the evening with some of the regions best street food and live music from exciting local artists all for free. The perfect appetiser for Gosforth Beer Festival in August!

Make your Friday nights even better, whether it's after work, school or just nipping out around the corners, come and relax in our bar or garden, grab a bite to eat and take in some great chilled out music without paying a penny to get in!

Caroline Mary & Tango Zapatito

Caroline Mary

Caroline Mary sings songs of animals, alcohol and agnosticism. Mostly allegorical her songs draw you in to a world inhabited by invisible horses, rampant octopi and a selection of metaphorical rodents. Accompanied mainly by guitar her songs are not genre specific but hint at folk, country and pop whilst exploring themes of desire, death and debauchery. 


Tango Zapatito

Tango Zapatito play and sing on accordion and cello, through a repertoire of tangos, waltzes and milongas.

Street Food from Grillas

Grillas offer handcrafted grilled cheese sandwiches fully loaded with tasty locally sourced ingredients. We serve our secret blend of melty cheesy goodness between perfectly toasted organic sourdough bread. #beltamelts

Ceitidh Mac & Kari MacLeod

Ceitidh Mac blends the warming tones of the cello and mellow vocals to create a transformative sound that puts a progressive twist on the alt.folk genre. Her live show is a innovative take on traditional and alternative folk songs, sitting alongside her own original material exploring topics ranging from illuminating everyday experiences to subjects of deeper self reflection.

Ceitidh has previously opened for the likes of Lankum and Laura Misch and has released her debut single Rhythm this year.

Kari Macleod is Highland born but Newcastle based singer/songwriter, fiddle player and artist.

Side Cafe Orkestar

This will be a fun one! Side Cafe Orkestar are made up of two guitars, 'cello, clarinet, accordion, fiddle and tuba. Playing foot tapping Balkan, Hot Club and Klezmer tunes.

Street Food from Acropolis Authentic Greek Street Food

​The Acropolis Team has a background in the food industry. Philip moved to Newcastle from Greece in 2013 and brought with him the taste of authentic Greek gyros. Philip and Victor have worked for almost 3 years in Greece serving Gyros.


Their dream was to bring that delicious Greek cuisine to Newcastle! Step by step, the Acropolis Team made their dream come true and are now able to serve all of you suthentic, honest greek food made with love!

Wilf Stone

Dansi front man and singer songwriter Wilf Stone will be opening with a rare solo performance. North-East local Wilf Stone has been entertaining audiences for years and has an exciting repertoire of songs that will get your knees jumping and you heart strings tugged.

Street Food from Redhead's Mac 'N' Cheese

Established in 2016 Redheads Mac ‘N’ Cheese has found an ever growing following for their “Ridiculously good” Mac ‘N’ Cheese. Redheads serve the finest pot of mac n cheese topped with optional toppings such as garlic breadcrumbs, freshly grated Parmesan, chorizo, Low n slow brisket and even mini cheeseburgers!

Calm C & Sailmaker

Calm C

Influenced by Clark, Early Mogwai, A Tribe Called Quest, Kila, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar, Calm C is a music producer from Belfast based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with a sound routed in electronica, hip hop, folk and ambient music.


Sailmaker is a new project from Rich Sutton, member of North East indie band Shields. 

Street Food from Catalina's Romanian Street Food

Catalinas uses traditional Romanian recipes that have been passed down through the generations of their family. Romanian food uses lots of smokey, spicey flavours and champions many fresh seasonal herbs and vegetables. They complete all the butchery themselves and make their own sausages with their own secret recipe.

They BBQ everything, keeping the style of the way the food is served as true to the culture as possible. They use local Northumbrian meats to create their unique recipes. Their menu changes with the season but you will always find delicious pickled vegetables, hearty kebabs, Smokey sausages and things you've probable never heard of but you will definitely like the taste of!

Silver Programme Musicians

Musical entertainment provided by a range of acts associated with Sage Gateshead’s Silver Programme, a community music programme aimed at engaging people over the age of 50. Come along for a varied and exciting array of acoustic bands from 3pm in the garden, and grab a ticket to see a selection of Rock, Pop and Blues bands from 7pm in the venue. All acts formed through meeting while attending Silver Programme sessions and have gone on to develop professional independent and peer led bands.

Street Food from Little Fishy

The Little Fishy are one of the most popular Street Food vendors in the region, created from an idea to transform the British classic of fish and chips for the modern consumer. Their ethos is to serve up the best fish and chips using fresh ingredients, with no skimping on quality or taste.


All food is freshly cooked to order, using locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients and sustainable packaging.  All fish is from North Shields Fish Quay.
