You will report to our Chef and work alongside our Front of House team.
The Role
Gosforth Civic Theatre is growing and is now in need of a Kitchen Assistant to work alongside the chef and Front of House team, ensuring that the environment is kept clean, safe and organised. Ensuring the same produce is prepared to the agreed standard, cleaning your section down daily. You will be involved in basic food preparation for the café and events hospitality.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the cleaning of dishes, as well as maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all areas in the kitchen. The role will also include taking deliveries and rotating stock where necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning Kitchen areas, equipment, floors
Washing pots and pans
Washing crockery and cutlery
Receive and unpack deliveries
Maintain stock rotation
Empty rubbish and food bins
Assist with basic food preparation
Communicate clearly and effectively
Positive attitude and approach to work
Flexibility to assist in other kitchen areas as required
Ensure all equipment used is used in-line with training
Pride in maintaining standards
Ability to work in a team and take instruction.
Working collaboratively with people with learning disabilities
Work alongside Liberdade volunteers and people on work placements who may have learning disabilities
You must provide when asked the relevant information to assist us to obtain a DBS check for you.
Essentials
· Immaculate personal presentation.
High levels of personal hygiene.
Maintain a clean, comfortable and well-stocked treatment area.
Maintain equipment and products.
Ensure daily task sheets are completed to the required standards.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years industry experience
Terms
Hours: 0 - 40 hours per week (All hours including Evenings and Weekends required)
Holiday entitlement: 30 days per year plus bank holidays (calculated on a pro-rata basis).
Salary: In line with national minimum wage
