COVID19 - UPDATE December 2021

In light of government guidance and increased restrictions put in place from this week in relation to the Omicron variant of COVID19 we wanted to reassure our audiences and customers and outline our existing and newly implemented measures that will be in place when you visit GCT this month.

As we operate as a cafe and bar as well as a live performance venue so we have throughly reviewed the current guidelines and risk assessed the events we have coming up. Since our capacities are under the 500 threshold and we do not operate as a nightclub, dancehall or discotheque as defined by government guidelines we will not be asking for COVID passports for upcoming seasonal events, however we will require everybody to wear a face covering at all times when visiting us, unless exempt or unable to wear a face covering or when eating or drinking in our cafe.

We will be asking staff to continue to wear face coverings when serving and will continue to have the following measures in place to help mitigate the spread of the virus:

• We have hand sanitising stations throughout the venue to encourage regular hand washing; • We will keep our one-way systems in and out of the building and through the venue; • Our full café menu is still available for takeaway and we will of course be encouraging contactless card payments where possible.

It almost goes without saying that if you’re feeling ill or displaying any symptoms at all that you should not visit us and should isolate or seek NHS advice and up to date government guidelines here.

We want to say a massive THANK YOU for your ongoing patience, empathy and understanding, you have all been amazing throughout the pandemic. We want you to know that we are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe.

Please contact us if you have any questions, concerns or would like more information, you can email info@gosforthcivictheatre.co.uk and one of the team will be in touch.

Thank you and we hope to see you in the building very soon!
