At Gosforth Civic Theatre (GCT), we are an independent theatre, cafe bar, and events venue founded by people with learning disabilities to bring communities together and generate understanding, creativity, and change. The Theatre: With its high-end technical infrastructure installed to make the most of it’s adaptable environment, we are able to deliver a huge variety of events to the highest quality that also give you the flexibility to make an occasion unique to you and your brand.
The Studio: Added to GCT in 2023 our Studio is a brand new space which has been built with flexibility in mind. You can hire our studio for meetings and small conferences and make use of the excellent sound and projection facilities.
Exclusive Building Hire: A building takeover is a brilliant opportunity to make GCT your own, bringing your branding and identity to the fore and utilising a fully accessible and adaptable venue to it’s maximum.

The Theatre

Our flexible and accessible Theatre is perfect for small and large conferences, meetings, workshops, training and, of course, performances. Whether it’s a 200 capacity company-wide presentation, or relaxed networking event, the Theatre has you covered.
The Space:

The Studio
Seats up to 60 | Banqueting style: 50
The Studio is a great break-out space as part of a larger booking, host lunches in here or use it as an adaptable facility for everything from networking meet-ups to classes and workshops. Only accessible via our entrance lobby, it offers a quiet and private space away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the venue.​

On top of all the things that make our Theatre and Studio great, you get exclusive access to our bright and airy Cafe space which includes full AV facilities, luxurious Foyer with it’s impressive sky light, bar and digital screens, welcoming outside Courtyard and cosy Garden (which is ideal for Spring and Summer bookings).
You get everything. Well, pretty much! Not only do you get access to the Theatre and Studio and all technical equipment and furniture, you also get exclusive access to:
