GCT is an independent arts space programming high quality theatre, live music and events. It certainly has a piece of my heart. Please do read on to discover what's on offer. There's something for everyone!

1 - It's Easy To Get To

Gosforth Civic Theatre entrance at dusk, trees in foreground, warm lights inside. Text reads: "1 - It's Easy To Get To."

I’m pretty sure GCT is the easiest theatre in the North East to get to. It’s conveniently located next door to Regent Centre Metro Station and Bus Stop plus a large Multi-Story Car Park. There are two Blue Badge Parking Bays just outside of the theatre.

2 - It’s Accessible

Row of empty black chairs in a hall with people in the background. Text reads: "2 - It's Fully Accessible."

The venue is fully accessible with wheelchair spaces available in the theatre & an accessible toilet on site. Carers go free, the bars are low-level & sensory requirements have been taken into consideration (eg no hand dryers in the loos).

3 - It’s Inclusive

Festive stage with cardboard buildings, illuminated in red and green lights. A sign reads "3 - It's Inclusive." Nostalgic Christmas songs play.

Did you know, GCT is the only theatre in the UK that is founded & guided by people with learning disabilities. It’s a unique social enterprise & every penny you spend on tickets, venue hire, food & drinks is used to provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

4 - There’s a Dog Friendly Cafe/Bar On-Site (Open to All)

Cosy GCT cafe with leather chairs, wooden table, and hanging plants. Glass window with "There's a Dog Friendly Cafe" text. Warm ambiance.

The Cafe Bar is open to all and a fab place to catch up on work / with friends over brunch, lunch or coffee. The central locations next to a Metro and Bus Station is ideal and it's much more peaceful than the city centre.

Expect fresh seasonal food, good coffee, baby change & child-friendly facilities including toys, books, highchairs and colouring plus free WiFi. There’s a dog-free zone if dogs aren’t your thing.
