A New Menu for Spring at GCT Kitchen

The charity run arts venue launched GCT Kitchen in May 2021 and have spent the year developing a crowd-pleasing brunch and lunch menu that celebrates fresh produce, local suppliers and adaptable options that have something for everyone.

Fully licensed from 11am with two outside seating areas, including their community garden – a secret gem of a beer garden and a must when heading for a pint in the sunshine – GCT is a must visit for food and drinks when out in Gosforth. You can expect a mouth-watering menu bursting with flavour, using the freshest ingredients from their favourite local suppliers. At the heart of the menu are dishes that are adaptable and flexible, with gluten free and vegan options available across both menus without compromising on flavour.

The new menu features brunch and lunch favourites such as the now renowned GCT Club Sandwich, Chicken Shawarma, Big Breakfast and Cinnamon French Toast, plus a new On Toast section – have it your way! – and an unmissable Mexican Sweet Potato Hash on the breakfast menu; alongside delicious summer salads, brand new Black Bean and Mushroom Meatball Subwich and Roast Garlic and Basil Chicken Burger.

The team behind Gosforth Civic Theatre are passionate about celebrating local produce and suppliers including those right on their doorstep, so expect to be enjoying produce from local butcher’s Charlotte’s Butchery, baked treats from Pink Lane Bakery on Gosforth High Street, and coffee from long established regional roastery Pumphrey’s.

As always, GCT is sure to be a hit with families. Their fantastic kids’ menu offers tasty and affordable options for a range of ages and on Thursday mornings have a free drop-in Babies and Toddler’s Freeplay session in their Garden Studio where you can treat yourself while the little ones play.

This April was the sixth anniversary of Liberdade, the disability arts charity who runs Gosforth Civic Theatre, getting the keys for Gosforth Civic Hall and breathing fresh life and real meaning into the local venue. If you haven’t visited GCT this is the perfect time to head down and support an important local institution while enjoying some of the best food in town.

Gosforth Civic Theatre is situated right next to Regent Centre Metro and Bus Station and is five minutes’ walk from Gosforth High Street.
