As you may be aware, Newcastle and the wider North East have been placed in Tier 3 of the government’s COVID-19 local restrictions until at least 16 December. This means that all of our scheduled film screenings in December must be cancelled, and our café remain closed.
We have already issued refunds to GCT Members who have bought advanced tickets for our Festive Film Season, and our scheduled general on sale for those screenings will now not be going ahead. At this time our Winter show, In a Nutshell, will remain on sale, with a review of the local tier system due to take place on Wednesday 16 December, so please keep buying your tickets for the show.
We’re so sorry that this has to happen, and we were so excited to have people in the venue again. This year has been hard on all of us in many different and sometimes devastating ways. We have worked hard to re-open and bring performance and events to you in a safe environment since July, and have loved seeing people reunited with live music and film after such a hard time, but unfortunately we, like many other venues and charities, face another uncertain time.
If you want to support us and help us get through this next challenge, despite not being able to come down in person, we are taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge next week, which has now become even more important. The Big Give is a fundraising week where every penny that is given through their online portal will be matched, meaning every donation is worth DOUBLE to us.
