There are plenty of reasons to visit Gosforth Civic Theatre. Maybe you’re coming for a coffee and a quiet afternoon in the cafe. Maybe you’re heading to an activity, or bringing the family along for a day out. Maybe you’re just looking for somewhere welcoming to spend a few hours.

Now there’s another good reason to visit by public transport too.

We’re proud to be part of #DaysOutByBus - a North East-wide campaign encouraging people to explore the region more sustainably while supporting local venues, cultural spaces, and attractions along the way.

If you travel to us by bus and show a valid ticket from the same day, you’ll receive 10% off in our cafe.

How It Works

It’s straightforward! Travel by bus or metro, and keep your valid ticket from the same day, and show it to our front-of-house team to access the offer.

Depending on how you travel, your ticket might be:

  • A paper bus ticket

  • App-purchased or digital ticket

  • Metro paper ticket

  • Pop card checker in Pop App

  • A mobile wallet journey confirmation

  • A concessionary bus pass

The scheme accepts tickets from Go North East, Stagecoach, Nexus, Network One, Arriva, PlusBus and the Metro.

Please note, this offer applies to our cafe only and is not valid at bar service during events.

Supporting Sustainable Travel

Days Out By Bus is all about making sustainable travel feel practical, affordable, and rewarding.

Public transport plays a huge role in helping reduce congestion, improve air quality, and connect communities across the North East. Campaigns like this encourage people to rethink how they travel while making local adventures more accessible at the same time.

At Gosforth Civic Theatre, community, accessibility, and connection sit at the heart of what we do. So being part of a campaign that encourages more people to travel sustainably and discover local places matters to us.

A Cafe Built Around Community

Our cafe has always been more than just somewhere to grab a drink.

It’s a space where people meet before shows, work remotely during the day, bring their kids after school, catch up with friends, or simply spend time somewhere welcoming and relaxed.

So if you’re travelling here by bus, it makes sense that we’d want to make that visit feel even more worthwhile.

Show your valid bus or metro ticket from the same day, and you’ll get 10% off in our cafe. Whether that’s coffee and cake, lunch with friends, or a quick drink before work, your bus journey comes with a little reward attached.
