The charity-run arts venue will move their ticketing function to Ticketsolve in February 2025.

After using Eventbrite as our ticketing solution for more than seven years, we are excited to announce that we will switch to Ticketsolve as our ticketing partner from Wednesday, 12 February 2025.

Who are Ticketsolve? Ticket Solve are a ticketing, marketing, CRM, fundraising, and memberships platform for arts and culture organisations. They have a reputation as a valued strategic partner that has built up over the past 15 years and was founded and are based in the UK and Ireland. They are the ticketing, marketing, CRM, and fundraising partner for more than 345 theatres, cinemas, music venues, museums, galleries, attractions – including Durham Cathedral, Leicester Square Theatre, Farnham Maltings, Komedia, De Monford Hall and many more.

Why are we moving to Ticketsolve? In a word; futureproofing. Ticketsolve's CRM (customer relationship management) system will help us better understand our customers, provide a more efficient marketing and reporting solution, and create a more seamless experience. The increase in features and flexibility will also allow us to introduce more ways for our customers and patrons to support us, such as a better donation platform, membership schemes, vouchers, and multi-buy discounts, among other opportunities that we hope to introduce in the not-so-distant future.

When will we move from Eventbrite to Ticketsolve? Our box office and online sales will pause from 8pm on Sunday, 9 February. They will be unavailable until 10am on Wednesday, 12 February, as we transfer data over from one system to the other and make updates to the website. Tickets will be available online and in-person at Gosforth Civic Theatre Cafe Bar from 10am on Wednesday, 12 February.

What happens if you have bought tickets on Eventbrite for a show that takes place after 12 February? You don't have to do a thing. We will transfer all purchase data to the new system and check you in with your name or upon presentation of your original Eventbrite ticket.

What does it mean for you? All your purchases are in one place. When you buy tickets from us now, you can create an account to manage your preferences, interests, and tickets. When booking in person, our front-of-house team can easily find your records and make ticket purchases far quicker. Otherwise, we hope that your experience of buying tickets with us improves and that the transition is as smooth as possible.

Will there be ticket or booking fees? We are very aware of the increasing cost of living and the impact of rising ticket prices on our customers, and we are committed to finding the balance between affordability for the ticket buyer and making our programme sustainable. However, the cost of running any ticketing platform isn't free, so tickets will include a fee to contribute towards ticketing overheads in the price of your ticket. Prices for all new events put on sale after 12 February will be consistent between online and in-person sales.

There were booking fees attached to online Eventbrite purchases; the difference now will be that those fees get paid directly to Gosforth Civic Theatre rather than a third-party ticketing platform. Any fees applied will be included in the advertised ticket price so there are no surprises and will be clearly communicated in our term and conditions. We will ensure that ticket prices for shows already on sale at the time of the changeover are the same as the fees currently applied on Eventbrite for consistency and to honour the currently advertised prices.

We can't wait to bring Ticketsolve on board, and we thank you for your continued patience and support while we implement these exciting changes.
