Road resurfacing planned for Regent Farm Road

Please be aware of roadworks on Regent Farm Road from Monday 19 January 2026, which may impact your journey to Gosforth Civic Theatre if you're travelling by car or taxi until mid February 2026, with no parking being available at the venue between 7pm and 1.30am Monday to Friday for the duration of phase two of the work.

Newcastle City Council's highway maintenance team are carrying out carriage-way resurfacing works on Regent Farm Road between Rothbury Avenue and the Great North Road junction approach from Monday 19 Janaury which will impact adjoining residents/businesses with access from this road as shown in the above image.

The work will involve removing and replacing existing road surfaces with black tarmac and is estimated to take 15 working shifts to complete, weather permitting, with no work to be undertaken at weekends.

As the Council's Highway Maintenance Team will have to temporarily close roads to complete the work, they are asking the public to avoid parking on Regent Farm Road or adjacent car parks between 7pm and 1.30am for the duration of the works.

That means that our car park should not be used during the above times, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the work. We advise looking for alternative parking if visiting during those hours, some of which are detailed here.
